Hello, my name is Dr. Robert Mcleroy and I specialize in family medicine. I was born in San Marcos, Texas. I completed my BA in Psychology from SMU in 1971 followed by a BA In Biology and Chemistry in 1972. I went to The Tulane Medical School of Louisiana and received my M.D. in 1976. I did my residency from 1976 to 1979 at John Peter Smith Hospital, Ft. Worth, Texas.
I have been board-certified by the Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine since 1979. I am a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a Member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. My service roles include a decade on the Board of Trustees for Gainesville Hospital District, as well as serving on the Cooke County Citizens Advisory Committee for Special Education and as Medical Director for Cooke County Home Hospice.
I have served as Chief of the Department of Pediatrics, Family Practice, and 0B-GYN at Gainesville Memorial Hospital, now NTMC. I also held roles as Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Medical Staff, and as Chief of the Family Medicine Department.
My other areas of service include church choirs, Cooke County Chorale, and leadership of the Gainesville Rotary Club. I’ve also been actively involved in Rotary and many other community groups.
I’ve been married to my wife Melodye for the past 12 years. I have two children, Robert Barton and Mary Margaret. I enjoy music, golf, farming, and ranching.
