My name is Dr. John Ferris, and I established the first Internal Medicine Practice in Grapevine, TX, after serving a six-year military medical career (USAF). While in the Air Force, I served at Philadelphia Naval Regional Medical Center, Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, and as Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Carswell Air Force Base.
Prior to my military career, I attended Texas Christian University and Loyola University of Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine, earning my MD degree. I was board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1979.
At Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine, I held leadership positions such as Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine/Family Practice, Chief of the Cardiopulmonary Department, and Chief of the Medical Staff. I established the first Intensive Care Unit and two subsequent expansions, which allowed Baylor Scott and White Hospital to provide care for critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical needs.
In addition to Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine Care, and Aviation Medicine (FAA flight examiner), I have been certified in various disciplines of Aesthetic Medicine, establishing Enhanced Rejuvenation and Weight Management in my Grapevine practice in 2018.
On a personal note, I am married to Diana McDow Ferris, and between the two of us, we enjoy our six children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. I enjoy photography, traveling, and especially TCU Horned Frog sports!
I look forward to seeing you at IntraCare Health Center – Grapevine.
